Hi, new member here. I've been lurking in the Asus forum for a few weeks now, and I love reading all of your information about the Asus W3V. Just last week I took the plunge and ordered one for myself, but because the store was back-ordered it won't be here until next week. From what I've read, the Asus W3V seems like the perfect laptop for me. For months I've been debating whether to get an ultraportable (Fujitsu P7010) or a gaming (Sager 9860) laptop. The Asus seems just right. I do a lot of gaming, but not anything hardcore, so I'm not expecting this laptop to be on par with what the Sager can handle. The Fujitsu's screen will probably be too small for my eyes, and without a dedicated graphics card the Fujitsu would be just around the same price as the Asus WITH a dedicated card, therefore I went with Asus. With that said...
Will I be able to play World of Warcraft without any problems? Will the graphics card (x600) be able to play the game at default settings? This is probably the only game I'm looking forward to play on this laptop. There will be other games I will experiment with, but WoW would be the primary game.
Thank you in advance, and for your information!![]()

You should have no probs running WoW on the W3V, there are a few users running it on the V6V (which has similar hardware) at the moment, and the X600 is a decent gpu. Just dont expect to run at max res with all the eye candy turned on...but normal settings should be fine

World of Warcraft scales on a lot of different gpus. It runs on the GeForce4MX built into one of my desktop motherboards fine, although it doesn't look as nice. The only thing I've tried to run it on and couldn't was the Intel embedded graphics (not the new GMA, but the extreme or whatever it's called). It should be able to run fine on the W3V and look fairly good in the process. (Definitely better than the MX =P)

I play WoW on the road with this laptop and I love it. You will probably want to turn down a few of the settings to get a little better performance (I did), but I generally get 20-40fps in IF, higher rates elsewhere. RAM makes a big difference and I would highly recommend upgrading to 1 gig if you can.
