Sorry if I've missed something, but it seems to me after reading many threads and going to many sites that it just isn't worth upgrading to Windows 7, especially if you don't want your laptop to melt while gaming. I've read a lot about cameras showing an upside down image, cpus and gpus overheating, drivers malfunctioning and not working all together. It also seems like many of these guides to update to Windows 7 refer to the RC and are outdated in some way or another and that people are still having trouble, months after the release of Windows 7.

So is it worth upgrading to Windows 7 if Vista was and seems to work better? I've installed Windows 7 and while I still have to install some drivers, I'd rather just go back to Vista if the drivers aren't going to work and if the gaming is going to be worse.

I upgraded, and dont seem to have any problems. My temps got high but that was due to dust and wearing pads/paste. I had the upside down image, searched and fixed it. All of my drivers work except maybe my sd card slot, I dont use it though so I wouldnt know if it actually works or not. I think just about every mainstream program/game works as well.

Did you do a clean install or just an upgrade? Also, is that a Reboot reference in your name?

What do you use to check the temperatures of the cpu and gpu and what did you do about the wearing pads/paste? That's the first time I've heard about wearing pads/paste, but I know of the dust problem. Is there a site or post that shows you how to clean the G50 for dust?

I upgraded, no problem at all, the x5actually got faster after the install, and no problems with games. Also faster booting up and shutting down.

Did you find any particular thread helpful in upgrading or did you just manage on your own?
