Wouldnt BE nise to have a forum sub-section for each ASUS model?

Sorry guys but sometimes to find an answer for a problem becomes so tiresome that people (including myself) start new threads of problems already discussed. There are several ASUS models around and people are very active in several of them that wouldnt BE nice to have a sub-section for each of the newer models?? Sorry if I offend someone because that is not my intention but just to find more effcient ways to solve the search problems.

    sincerly,

    RG

The main sticky has links to each of the model lounges. I think that's fine.

thats not a bad idea, but then where would you post the general stuff? and if there was another subforum for that stuff i doubt it would get as much help as it would now.

general stuff for general boards..anyway it is just an idea because sometimes you have the same components for different models so when you use search eventhough you mention an specific model you get search for other model because it was mention the model you were looking for in their topics. Plus there arre so many other issues such us many repitive topics so you waste your time narrowing the one with most relevant DATA. Well, I guess not many like the idea so peace and live on :)

Maybe like a treeview or hide/unhide menu-ish thing..

I think it's fine as it is now though.

Subforums for the C90, G1 and G2 laptops might work since the majority of threads seem to be about those three models. Doesn't seem like many people post about the S96S. :(

well, people use search but there are so many repetive threads plus same components and mixing of models from one to oher that it takes really longer to find what are looking for...btw, this question came actually from using search function and find out the mixing of threads with components and models plus the repetitive status that I spent hours to try to narrow what Im looking for ;)

I even mentioned that in the beginning but people already said lounge model work for them which at some point I even have found repetive lounge for same models ;)

That is why I asked and if people dont like it is ok but being sarcastic doesnt work :D

I'm a big fan of searching the forums, like RogueMonk said. Simplifying your search to keep it broad can be most helpful (like your model number and limiting it to the Asus forum and the last 120 days).

However, forum searching is also a pain (based on belonging to 10+ forums). You need to get terminology right (notebook, laptop, lappy, NB), you need to hope that people spelled things right (wireless vs. wireles vs. wirless, etc.), and you have to get the problem right (hard drive failure, or virus, or bad disk drive).

Forums with a Google-based search usually turn up better results because Google's search is a little bit "smarter". And actually searching from Google often gives you better results. Not only can you use Boolean search wildcards, you can limit Google's search to a website.

Ive never had a problem using the search function, And the idea to make a subforum for the G1S and C90 dosent really work, As soon as the next latest and greatest model comes out these wont be the only models being discusssed.

I also think the folder or tree structure would be a good idea for each system model. With the general Asus threads staying in the root of the Asus forum.

Perhaps a poll would provide a more structured idea of how many people would be in support of it.

I made a thread specifically for the F8Sv not long ago, but people still made new threads about the same notebook... I guess with such a busy forum some threads just get burried pretty fast if not stickied and then the next person fails to search and makes a new thread. I'd be in support of sub-forums...
