When doing a system restore it locked up. Now when restarting it keeps restarting. Won't allow access to anything. Still under warranty.

    X205TA that is.

Which version of Windows? And are you referring to using a restore point, or a system recovery using the OEM factory recovery?

Windows 10, system restore. The Asus came with Win 8 and I upgraded to 10. It worked fine until I tried this. Then it locked up at 64%. Now it keeps rebooting and saying 64%. It doesn't allow me to change anything.

I have talked to Amazon, Asus and Square Trade about this on the phone. I could barely understand any of the 3 I talked to. This is utterly ridiculous that these companies cannot find workers who speak clear English.

Are you able to get the system into Safe Mode? (F8, or shift + F8 during startup, if it's possible.) Getting back to the desktop in Safe Mode might allow you to try again. I've occasionally had success doing it this way where it failed on normal boots.

Unfortunately, this is very common with big business. Outsourcing is a big thing anymore.

OS is very likely to be corrupted, the best method is to perform a clean restore via recovery media such as recovery DVD discs. If you did not make a backup previously then the only way to get it is by calling ASUS tech support to obtain one. Note there may be charges since they are providing additional service to you.

When you get it back you will have a chance to make the recovery discs, don't forget. :)

I just talked to my son. He said he tried recovery disc but it still wouldn't boot up.

Was it created using ASUS utility? There should be 2 ~ 3 discs total.
