This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     What is a X53E-XR1? I don't see it on the ASUS site. It's on Fry's website:
    FRYS.com|ASUS

    Seems very similar to K53E-A1.

    Yes the X and K are very similar and tend to use the same exact chassis, and sometimes are exactly the same model with a different name.

    I also just found the X53U on the MicroCenter site.
    Micro Center - ASUS X53U-XR2 Laptop Computer - Mocha X53U-XR2

    Again, it looks like the same exact chassis, but with the (slower) AMD E-350. Interesting.

    I'm considering a K53E, but cannot find one in a store near me. I might try to find one of either X53E or X53U on display somewhere to try it out just get a feel for the keyboard, trackpad, and chassis.
