Hi.
I just buy a laptop to my kids and want to install a new ssd disk. Kingston SSD Now V+200 120gb.
My new disk is not available in boot list in Bios. (upgraded to ver. 420)
I also try some USB drive but only some of the is available, even the Optical drive is not in the list.
In bios where I can change SATA mode(ide and achi) the disk is recognized.
All the disks works fine in windows Explorer and on other laptop
Can someone please help me?

Have you tried going into computer management and see if it is recognized in the OS?

Thanks for trying to help.
Yes, the disk works fine in Windows, disk management and on other laptop. I also tryed to remove partition.
Seems to be some problem with the X55U... -

Have you tried flashing the BIOS from the 420 (even if that means rolling back)?

Obviously not ideal but is it detected properly in another SATA mode?

Bios version was 410 but it didn't work, so I try to upgrade after.
Meaker: It is detected in both mode but not listed in boot list.
I also think it strange that the optical drive installed onboard is missing in bootlist. -

This definitely sounds like faulty BIOS. Try taking the CMOS battery out for a minute after powering off the machine, and then reinsert it. Although, if you have the laptop under warranty, it would be better to not expose the motherboard at all and send it in instead.
