ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Perhaps - but no one is going to know for sure outside of BestBuy's marketing department staff.
BB does what they want to, and also depends on their contract arrangement with Asus along their product sales figures and goals.... -
It was on sale again this week for $794... but if you plan on running Linux I would not recommend getting it... there are some apci issues (Kernel or Bios is to blame, but I am not sure which).

On sale?
It is showing $1,049.99 on their site.
For $794 I would go pick one up. -

I saw the same thing, $794 and it also said it was a clearance price so BB may be discontinuing that model.

why hope it goes on sale when you can currently get the n80vn-x1 from newegg for 800 dollars?
-it has an extra year of international warranty, and the 1 year accidental damage
-also it has a 9650gt as opposed to the 9600gs, and doesnt suffer from that ugly brown color scheme.
for more clarification the x83 is a very odd computer, it seems to be some weird half step between the f8 and n80, it uses the n80 chassis and mobo it seems, but uses the old f8 graphics card, and im not honestly sure if it uses the n80s led screen or not. either way avoid buying asus from bestbuy, they tend to strip all the good out of it
