Yes i know there are many threads, but I am still kind of panic mode, so i decided to make a new thread.

ok, so i was studying for my exam.. my buddy bought me pop, i open it, it splashes onto lower corner of my keyboard. Nothing went wrong. Computer remained on for rest of the day (10hrs + of studying) and it still appears to be fine. Very little actually got onto keyboard..

but my left bottom alt key is started to get gooey and hard to press. Anyone have any advice how to fix my alt button and also, should i be worried that there is any internal damage?

If i bring to Asus repair shop (i live very near one) will they help me clean it or replace it (i still have my 1 year warranty)

    appreciate any advice. thanks!

Is it only your keyboard? If so, try taking off the keyboard and cleaning it out.

Try popping off the key and wiping up under it, Most laptops have a spill tray under the keyboard.

You can easily remove the keyboard of most notebooks? How is that done? That's totally new to me. :p

coriolis: it appears so.. and the only key affected was the bottom left 'alt' key.,

how would you go about opening and cleaning the keyboard.. i tried to see if the key would pop off but it seems glued to keyboard. my laptop is w3j.

Flip the notebook and remove the screws marked as 'K'.

Then take a credit card and press down on the tabs above the keyboard which locks the keyboard in place. Usually they are placed above the F1 keys, and should be 3-4 tabs.
