Well just the other night I was using my baby on my night table and I was listening to some music using my earphones while reading up on a new system build for my cousin featuring a DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D motherboard with an AMD 64+ cpu, and a 7800GT, etc, etc.
Then I got up to go to the washroom and guess what? I HEARD MUSIC PLAYING FULL BLAST~!!!!
I didn't notice because I had my earphones on and they're the type that go completely in your ear canal.
From what I've read on the forums here, it's suggested that it's a hardware problem right? Justin?
So I have to send in my unit AGAIN, crap, I don't have the time because of school, but what the hell I'll kill two birds with one stone and have them fix the **** creaking they said they fixed. I think I'm going to request a new unit, or just new body work, but have them keep the screen, because the screen I got as a replacement is excellent.
Pray for me guys, pray, thanks.
Cheers,
Mike

.. how did you have the earphones in, but pluged into the computer at the same time? If you did..... yeah, there might be a problem with the plug.. which on a Z70 is part of the audio dj board... which is nice, because it's not the whole motherboard... that would be a pain in the rear.

Ouch. You've been hit with BOTH of the "known issues" with the Z70...
1) Red Ghosting
2) faulty headphone jack
I really hope you get it all fixed. -
Holy crap, like I said before it's just my luck.
1) fixed and happy
2) will be fixed and will be happy once again
It's a separate part on the board? Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice, so I don't have to worry about getting a whole new unit. *PHEW*
That's good to know.
Justin do you know how they handle body repairs? My creaking case was supposedly taken apart and put back together, but it's still there and it's not just creaking, but the actual body that I believe to be defective because it moves. The base of the right palm rest is not flush with the front silver part of the laptop so it moves up and down and creaks like hell.
The left palm rest is solid and I believe it should be like this on the right.
Do they replace the whole unit or just the body? I hope they just put on new body parts because I'm happy with my new screen.
Cheers,
Mike
