My G50Vt-X1 came with the 205 bios out of the box. You should probably check which version yours is running before trying to upgrade.

when i type dxdiag, it says "Default system BIOS" , i am not sure why i cant see the version. Is there any other way to check my BIOS version?

Its on the screen at boot up if you press TAB to change from the Asus loading screen to the BIOS screen

My G50vt-a2 came with 207..
the bios on the site I think is just the initial release bios, I wouldn't go reloading it unless you have to... Only if a NEWER one came out, and the VT's dont go any older than 205 and most have 207.. -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Plus, Asus is known for always being behind with keeping the support downloads site totally current.....

If you are using vista push start, type system, and select system information. Under the system summary tab it will show your Bios version and the date. My G50vt-x1 has 205 on it.
Your G50Vt BIOS.
