when my processor is running @ stock speed (1.73ghz) i can hear almost this beeping comming from the right side of the keyboard, i have never had this on a laptop before...what is causing this?

its not a real beep but like intermittent electronic noises...

It's the hard drive, I'm pretty sure of it.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. As coriolis said, it's probably the hard drive... definitely NOT anything of harm.

Is it hot? Load a temperature indicating software to check if CPU temperature is too high.

It cant be hotter then normal unless they forgot to fasten the heatsink or take of the paper tab covering the thermal pad. In either case it would have burnt or overheated
Not sure what you mean by beeping. If you mean low pitch buzzing then its normal. If its actually beeping while its on that can mean the drive is going bad. Typically i have seen that a few times with toshiba drives and no other.
