OK, well we came up with a little promo that should interest some of you. For any of you who saw the pictures of my aluminum case that I store my w3 in, this will be very familiar.... For any of you who got a chance to see my case in person, your comments would be nice. We put together a great deal for just the members of this forum..... part of the deal is you must be a member of this site and have at least 10 posts to your credit. We have roughly enough stock of these cases to last about 2-3 weeks, so this is a limited time offer and won't last the month. Once we are out of them, I'll make a post and let everyone know. Have a great holiday weekend!
(Anyone who comes in and makes 10 useless posts just to get this promo will be denied)

EVERYONE CHECK THIS OUT!!!
First of all we all know that the ASUS Notebooks are really great machines, :asus: , but what is equally impressive is the case that Justin is giving in this promo. I was able to check it out when I met with him a few weeks ago. He has photos in a real time enviorment I think he would be more than happy to post if any one asks.
I liked the build quality and the look of this case. The inside fits the W3 perfectly, nice padding, and sweet looking. Above all, in a previous post, I think it was the "What do you carry your laptop in?", I said an alumnium brief case that could take a beating and protect your machine, well this certainly fits the bill. Nice hinges, they look like they can take abuse, nice quality locks, and handle. I recommend it for anyone who wants more protection than a regular soft sided case. -
Sorry for the double post but I remembered something else, the case does not weight a lot so its real comfortable to use and move around with.

Bri,
By the way..... I had them choose a 3" case rather than the one I had which was 2 1/2" .... The W3 was a perfect fit in mine, but it was almost TOO tight and you couldn't use it for anything else. The 3" model was about 1" longer and 1/2" taller... that gives a bit more room to fit the power supply in the case along with actually making use of the compartments in the top lid (which I can't use because the W3 is, like I said before... an exact fit for the thing... This case should make it a little more useful and therefore something that's more than just a novelty. -
Wow... that is a sweet deal. If I were up for a Z63A I'd be all over it. Every consumer wants to feel that they have some icing on their cake, that's what PROPortable is doing. Now Justin... get real creative and let's do the W5a!
-
PROPortable Company Representative
We're going to try it in this system first and see how people like it. This and the W3 have been so good for us that we figured we could offer something back. We'd do it on the W3 but apparently if it's not duing a "pre-order", Asus gets pretty ticked if you want to offer something like this and others can't........ So, we limited it to the Z63a.
Also, to be fair, ANY Notebook Review member who bought a Z63a in the last 15 days.... drop me a line and I'l have them ship out a case to you for the cost of shipping... -
Sounds good bro. Keep up the good work. I'll be looking forward to anything you come up with. That case is freaking Mission Impossible. ROCK.
-
Maybe Thomas Crown Affair. Now Pierce Brosnan is smooth in that movie.

Well tell your friends.... maybe even sell your current laptop to your friends ??
-
Allow myself to introduce... myself...
Can I use it as a shield against AK-47s? Does it have garrotting wires cleverly hidden inside the handles? Will the case explode if an suspecious looking individual tempers with the obviously thieft-proof locks?
And most importantly, does it add to my already sweltering mojo?
Pawars, Austin Pawars...
cheers,

Valsmere was kind enough to send over a copy of a few shots he took which happen to show off the case we're giving away in this promo...... He took these shots a couple weeks back when I met with him. Unfortunately, he wanted to take the systems outside in the sun to get some shots, but I had to put them in my trunk because it was so bright it was hard to get a good shot........ as the story goes.. a couple minutes later we got would would quickly become a few inches of rain.... Enjoy - Thanks for these Vals!
And here is a link to a larger close up:

I went in the office to get something today and noticed a bunch of you already took advantage of this offer. They should start building your systems on Tuesday.
Have a great holiday weekend. -
Looks amazing, is it only offered on the Z63a "built on asus" notebook, or for the Z63a and W3v?
-
PROPortable Company Representative
It's only on the custom systems as the promotion implies.
-
Awesome deal. Too bad I already bought a Z70V. Is there an aluminum super spy case available for that?
-
PROPortable Company Representative
Yeah, actually there is...... I've got another size and design that fits the W1 really well.
-

From the looks of the orders from this weekend, this promo will last about another week if anyone is interested.
-
wait, is the Z63a the customizable version of the W3v?
I'm not too fond of that case, do you have any other cases / carrying bags that you're willing to offer in place of the aluminum case (or can we take the 140 cash
)
-
PROPortable Company Representative
This isn't a pick your own carrying case promotion.... it is what it is... sorry to be blunt about it, but it's take it or leave it.
The Z63 is a custom model based on the W3a, not W3v..... the A model has intergrated graphics instead of dedicated. -
Admitted, this is OT, but is that the trunk of an S4 I see there...?
-
You should of put a disclaimer, telling us to put a clothe, or a tshirt under the keyboard, so we don't ruin it from our drool.
Sweet car! -
PROPortable Company Representative
... easy... it's not pornographic... it just does 0-60 in an honest 5 flat... Got the thing up to 140 w/ 4 people in the car (that's about 700 pounds) on top of the already heavy car given it's 4DR and 4WD... not bad for for a "sensible family car"....
-
one more quick question, just to make sure: the z63a does not have any dedicated memory? I.e. everything up to 128MB is shared? Or is it something like the put in the S460 which is 32 dedicated and up to 96 shared? Couldn't really find that anywhere.
-
It's all shared.
-
PROPortable Company Representative
Yes, that's correct, the z63a uses integrated graphics.... that implies all "shared"
-
Congrats on the car. You got the new model---that's a nice vehicle right there.
Even beats my E-class to 60---maybe it's time to trade it in?
I like the color; it fits the Audi's sports look. I'll never own an MB in anything but silver gray, IMO that's the only thing that looks good on it. That pearl is awesome on the Audi though.
I'm not using the Jotto Desk system anymore. It worked well but was simply too big as I'm not using the M2 in the car anymore. Looking forward to some shots of your pull-out system once you get there.
Thanks,

Yeah, that's what it is. Here's a picture since I took it down from the post: http://www.proportable.com/storage/jodea/images/s4.jpg
On another note the promotion on the Z63a's w/ the aluminum case is going to be extended. We're working on making a store wide promotion where we'll have different size and style cases for all of our systems. What we're going to do is offer the cases to anyone who buys a system for probably 50-60% off. We'll also extend that to previous customers who have bought systems as well.
But for the time being, we're going to continue this promotion at least another week. -
PROPortable Company Representative
We've decided enough is enough... we've got a handful of these cases still left and we're going to stop this promo early next week.
-
Yeah Justin's car was sweet but I just can't seem to get into any of the new cars. When I get home I'll throw up pictures of my ride that stays in the garage until the nice weather is upon us. A restored 1967 Pontiac GTO, not the new thing they just re-intorduced but a real, matching number GTO

Vals, I might have to trade you for the day
-
I saw you edited your thread on the 1st of July, does it still going on? How much are you selling the Z63A model? PM me if you can.
-
PROPortable Company Representative
Yes, we have a few left. Drop me a direct email if you are interested, I'll make sure I can confirm that before you're ready to decide.
-
PROPortable Company Representative
I confirmed today we've got 5 more cases. So I guess that means we're still a go with this promotion.
If anyone has any ideas for me as far as future promotions, just me know what you'd like to see. Companies like those who are making these aluminum cases for us really like to get their stuff out there and really help out just to get the word passed around about their products. -
Sorry to dredge up this old post, but is the deal still alive?
Thanks.
