Seems there no definitive answer, half the sites reviewing it swing one way, and the other half the other. Asus.com doesnt even list Z63a as a product. Whats going on lol.

Can one of the owners please confirm the resolution once and for all?

    Thanks :)

Yes, definitely 1280 x 768. I would have quite liked the extra 32 rows of dots, but can live without them.

The Z63A is the same as the W3A which is listed on the Asus site, but without the Asus logos.

yeah, i'm first time to see a 14" LCD screen having a 1280x768. Normally, a 15.4" wide screen for WXGA is 1280*800 such as M6N and Z71A , but i don't know why it is not available to have a 1280x800 for z63a even it is not a big difference!!!

    I thought WXGA's were supposed to be 1280 x 768.

    1280x800 gives a 16:10 ratio...which is true widescreen, I think.

Ironically, 12.1" widescreens are also 1280x800. For every 14" widescreen I've seen, the resolution is 1280x768.

    1. Widescreen aspect ratio is usually 16:9, which is equivalent to 1280 x 720. Widescreen LCD TVs are usually 1280 x 720 or 1280 x 768.

    2. The 13" widescreen notebooks are also usually 1280 x 800. Perhaps there is a manufacturing reason for 1280 x 800 14" displays not being common.
