Well, after much thought I have decided on the Asus over the Compaq.

A6NE has a cool little camera and is $1199 with DVD writer and Pentium M
    Dothan with 400mhz bus
Z70A comes in Carbon fiber, DVD-RW is extra and is $1149
    Sonoma with 533mhz bus

What else do you think I should consider when comparing these 2 models?

What do you need it for?

    Need more information :)

But based on your site(I'm assuming, and its nice), I'll say the a6ne, the dothan will nab you a better battery life, the DVD burner can be useful, and the camera is cool. But remember that it's there and use it every once in a while ;)

I have a very neglected Logitech WebCam that's not been used once since I bough it haha :D

I'd actually also recommend the z63a, its smaller and for about $100~ more you can get a great little system.

Just the same stuff I do on my desktop, but needing it mobile. Outlook, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, web, quickbooks, etc

basically just to do work and some school (although im about done with school)

I think the web cam would come in handy for, well, nevermind :)

Anyways, the 2 systems look almost identical, and the one with the cam is cheaper. Anything im missing about the more expensive one you think?

Hard to say. Both are great, in the end, its up to you.

The A6ne should get more battery life but not by a huge amount. So I'd say the z70a! It's pretty slick too :)

The Z70A supports DDR2 ram and has the 915 chipset

The A6NE supports DDR ram and has the 855 chipset

anything there i should worry much about?

Also... I believe the A6Ne comes with ASUS warranty whereas the Z70a comes with manufacturer warranty; that may be something to consider.

The Z70a won't give you much of an improvement in speed over the older Dothan of the A6Ne... so if you want bang-for-the-buck, go for A6Ne.

The z70a is part made of Carbon Fibre while the A6ne should be plastic(not like the stereotypical, plastic spoon plastic :p It's pretty rigid), If I recall correctly, the 'A' series are made of plastic?

Hmm, Isn't the A6ne an Ensemble unit?

Also, it looks like the z70a will have a slightly different warranty(Best if you ask them) as the a6ne will. Also the a6ne will have an XP Pro licence, and an optical mouse. z70a starts with 256 memory, a6ne starts with 512. The z70a have 10/100/1000 lan, while the a6ne should have 10/100

All that I can see so far..

    edit: Indeed I type slow..

Really is sounding like the A6NE will be the better bang for the buck. Now if Icould just be 100% sure on the screen size

The A series is made out of plastic. The screens are identical I think. The A6Ne is an older generation it all depends on what you want to do with it. I own an A6Va which is the A6 series equivalent of the Z70V refresh except for the WXGA screen. Note that I paid about the same price as the A6Ne you are quoting for the A6V but I bought it in Taiwan. Don't know if you can order from there...
