I'm not sure what to do here to determine if my main battery is toast... it no longer charges. I bought the laptop a little over 3 months ago.

It is still recognized by the system. CHC reports a fully charged capacity that shows a 13% wear rating. It was fully cycled a couple times a few days after I got the system and hasn't been since. I've also used the extra bay battery in tandem and both have been charged/recharged maybe a few dozen times.

You answered your own question. If the battery doesnt hold a charge thus it is a bum battery. What advise are you looking for? aside from contact your dealer.

I'm not sure if this indicates it doesn't hold a charge - the laptop makes no attempt to charge it. I'm thinking it could just as well be a hardware/software issue with the laptop. Just wondering if there's an easy way to diagnose this without purchasing another battery.

FWIW, you're my dealer, so I guess I'll be giving you a call early this week. Thanks.

You can try the battery calibration in bios. It doesnt do anything but "revitalize" it so.....If it doesnt charge then it doesnt charge. Normally the charge light should remain one if it does not.
