I have a Z70V and I want to enable Dual View Monitor. I do not want to extend my desktop, which seems to be the only thing I can find. I want what appears on my laptop lcd to appear on the external monitor LCD.

I am running the Z70V with the Portbar. Any suggestions?

You want to run "cloneview" then..... are you using the Window's settings options, or are you using the ATI tools?

Basically you either want to select "cloneview" or don't "extend my windows desektop" ... that should do it.

I tried Windows settings and also downloaded the ATI Hydravision software. I don't see cloneview as an option anywhere. When I do not select extend my desktop, the external monitor does not get a display or signal at all.

have you tried pushing the fn+f8 buttons? that should turn on dual view. I usually do that first whenever i connect anything, and then i have to extend my desktop because it automatically clones it wheni press that function button

Yeah, I tried that first. When I hook up the second monitor, it gets no signal until I turn on extend desktop. After that, fn+f8 or any windows settings I try, all have the same result...and extended desktop only.
