    I saw that thread, but I was looking for some more up to date info. I may be starting a new consulting gig and I need to have a new notebook by the 19th of August. Getting down to the wire like this, 11 day old info is too stale.

    There are no updates. The only ones qualified to give a new inhand date would be the Dealers (Proportable, Geared2play, and others).

    The Asus Z70Va has been pushed back until some time in September. We are now being told it could be mid to end of September.

    In the laptop business when a projected release date is this far off, it is still not reliable, so at this point it is still guesswork...there is no definitive answer.

    I'm the kind of person that researches things and waits for certain kinds of technology to come out and gets the best price on it. But there is a limit people. I just got my Z71v and couldn't be happier with it! It's everything i thought it would be and much more (and looks much better than in pictures). If you want a powerful machine with an equally powerful GPU, get the z71v. Otherwise, if you don't mind the slower x600 and want something slightly lighter, and black, then get the z70v.

    I really don't see the use of waiting so long for a new laptop. From the first time i heard of the z70 refresh i said it would probably come out in mid october... and I still think it will (based on how long it took from the time i first heard of the w3m to the release of the w3v). You could spend your whole life waiting... new technology is always comming out. When the z71v refresh comes out, guess what, news will come of a newer, better laptop from Asus.... you gonna wait for that? Cuz i can guarantee you, it'll be way better :p.
