    Hi,

I just brought the DVDRW for Z70VA and install it. Works when I do a fresh install of Win XP but the safely remove hardware icon doesn't see the DVDRW drive only my SB Audigy. I try to install NFS:Most Wanted I got up to the 3rd disc and the drive makes a weird sound and it said it can't move some movies files. Did I recieve a faulty DVDRW drive?

    Thanks

If you are having problems reading discs, then try some different ones. Try a couple, or one that you knokw works. If they do work, then it may that the the NFS disc isn't working.

If none of them work, then it may be a DVD drive fault, but more than likely it is software. Make sure you have DMA mode enabled for your drive. You should be able to find this under the properties, in Device Manager.

I just install The godfather and it works, so is grand theft auto: SanAndreas. Yeah It might be just the NFS:MW dics. Should I buy a new one?

See if you can clean he one you have. No point inbuying a new disc and then realise the one you have now, might work. If there are scrathches on it, then most likely, you will have to replace the disc.

I would like to suggest something very simple, the MW disc into the rom if it doesn't work, then take it out, restart the computer, then try. If that doesn't work, it worth a shot to restart it 2 more times, but with the MW disc in the ROM. Try that and lets see if it works.

Thanks MilestonePC It works I flash it with the newest version 9 I think. Install without any problem but now the DVDRW drive doesn't read some of my CDs. The local store that I brought it from said to deal directly with Asus and there not responsible for it. Any recommendations?
