Ok I'm having a problem with my video card fan on my z70va. Under speed fan it constantly stops running or runs at 100ish RPM. I can sometimes get it back to regular speed again by giving a good gust of air into the rear fan hatch. What could be the problem? Do i need to replace it? How the hell do i go about replacing it? Its a real problem because just on idle it can get to some pretty high temps when the fan is out. Please help.

    REMOVE SPEEDFAN.

If you install speedfan (or any other 3rd party utility) and it messes around with essential things like fan speeds, the first thing to do is remove it.

In addition, speedfan is known to cause such problems.

Ok, it seems I could've read your post more carefully :)

It seems your FAN is faulty. I would try the following things:

    1. Open the notebook, check if it's properly connected to the mainboard (power socket).
    2. If it's properly connected, then probably it's the fan itself that's faulty. You can maybe get one at the ASUS eStore (google)

On how to open up the Z70 and remove the fan: there is a disassembly manual. I think you can find it somewhere on the forum / google, but otherwise, PM me your email and I will send it to you.
