I dont know anything about GPU temperatures but 71C for the cpu under heavy load is not abormal at all. You could undervolt your processor which would bring the temperature down about 10 degrees but it isn't necessary.

everything seems okay to me...GPU could be a bit cooler, but that seems normal to me, without any undervolting that is.

What surface do you place your laptop on?

The highest I've seen my GPU go is ~90C so that looks about the same to me...

Maybe try propping the rear end of your laptop up an inch or two with a book. That might help increase airflow underneath it.

    Dear friend,
I have a travelmate 8000 with mobility x700 video card.
I have tried many tools to monitor his temperature, but nothing.
Can you tell me please how you do to know the temperature of your video card? Maybe I should upgrade the bios of my video card ?

    Thank you

    Already done,
but nothing. Probably my motherboard doesn't support this feature.
I have tried also atitool, atitraytool with the appropriate plugin,
    etc. etc.
Someone with Acer Travelmate managed to monitor is GPU temperature?

    Thank you

You have to downlaod Everest as well so that it will detect the fans and run everest first and then open Speed Fan. I have speed fan on mine and noticed when playing WoW the GPU temp will get upwards of 95c. The weird thing is the fan isn't on, if I close out Speed Fan the fan wil kick on and everything goes back to normal. But it doesn't do this all the time.

    Thank you for your help,
but doesn't work, I can't my monitor the fan speed of my Acer travelmate 8100. My motherboard is Acer Kingfisher and is not supported by SpeedFan, but as my notebook have the ACPI temperature sensor, probably this is locate near the video board and the processor, so his temperature should be similar for both the unit, I think.
    What do you think?

    Ciao
