The Z70Va's are back in the channel, but the Bluetooth versions are not.
Some vendors are installing the module and stating they have the Bluetooth versions in stock.
Just FYI.

And does that make a difference? -

You know, originally we had a handful of the z70va's when they first came out without bluetooth. Installing it, for us wasn't a problem, but with any disassembly there is always cause to worry... it takes more labor and really these chassis' are meant to go together once and even after years of doing these sorts of upgrades, it's really not worth it.
For that reason we've always passed on the none bluetooth models and for anyone wondering if it was originally in ther from the factory can find this information on their original shipping box........ If you see a "/B" at the end of the line, then bluetooth was in there... if not, it was added. -
Justin pretty much wrapped it up - it's a pain in the ass. -
the reseller would notify you though right? if they installed the bluetooth.. im hoping..
-
All the ones that are not doing it would... lol.
So no, no they wouldn't... -
wow, nice. does anyone know when z70va would be discontinue?
-
March / April, when its Centrino Duo replacement comes in.

or is there going to be a "build-on" version with same specs as z70va, i.e. 15.4" wsgxa non-glare screen, no tuner, weight <6lbs...except that it will have Yonah? -

No, I never said such a thing. I have said that the US office has made it clear that the M6 series (Z70) will most likely not get refreshed as they move towards an entirely seperate whitebox line that is devoid of any previous "asus" model.
With that said, I've said that the W1 is going to get refreshed and will come in with a glaretype display..... most likely with a tv tuner as well... but I think you've confused the two. -

I don't see how the reseller installing the bluetooth module is any different from them installing the CPU, RAM, HDD....etc. Either way, the final product is what it is - whatever you order.

Installing a stick of ram can be done by a monkey...... adding a cpu can be done by an idiot.... technically they could both place the bt module on the one spot on the motherboard it fits.... but, taking the entire barebone apart to install a little bt module is crazy... It's simple when you're building them up from scratch.... on top of that, the minimal charge they add to make that upgrade is just that, minimal.... I wouldn't do that upgrade for $20-30... and really for that little charge, do you want your entire system ripped back down with probable damage being done to the chassis? ... if they charged $100 or so that really pays for the time involved.
Now.. if a BT model wasn't offered.. that is indeed what we'd offer.... but since they offer it, we wouldn't waste our time because it can't be done right for cheap. -

yea sorry if that post seemed stupid.. but like proportable said my only concern was that the notebook would have to be disassembled.. and i've heard that reassembly can be a pain.. but i guess thats why there are those who sell lappys for a living, because they know what they are doing and will not damage the notebook...

Ahum. Cought cought. I got BT. I have a monkey installing it. My monkey been installing it on the z63a z71v z70v for months and months now. Not profitable but is appreciated by users everywhere. With that said yes we are integrating the bt modules for users not from the factory. The bt option stays on the z70va even though we dont get it that way from the factory.
