    OK,

I just got some information from basically a 2nd hand newsletter from Asus. It says the M6 will be phased out at the end of June and replaced by the Z70a and Z70v models.

    Two things.

    1. This means that a dedicated graphics model and a integrated model will be avaialable in the US as a barebone.... something some of you have really wanted.

    2. I'll clear this up, but I think it means that the M6's replacement may not be here till then.....

Also, the M3 will not go away after all! It'll get upgraded at the end of May and turn into the Z61a.... basically just the same system... Not sure on the color, but I think since this has been such a popular model (and it's really the perfect fit between the W3 and V6..... I'm glad it'll still be around, as will some of you.

    Thanks,
    Justin

I'm assuming the upgraded M3 will be Sonoma based?

no.. it will be updated to sonoma..... and since it's the same platform.. if you have an M6 and really want to ugrade.... you could just upgrade the motherboard if you wanted.... I know I've taken an M2 from a P3, to a P4-m, to a Centrino system....... not always the most affordable thing to do.. but you can still use the same hard drive and monitor and chassis and battery if you' like..... so can could save some money.... just fun to do though.

    Thanks,
    Justin

yes.. the only asus laptop in two years without one..... basically.... I wonder if they'll add one.... there is room for it... and it's been one of the only drawbacks to the system, although I can't see anyone not buying a system purely because of that..... but that is a good point and as soon as I see some pictures, I'll let you know if they did do a little case redesign.

    Thanks,

Sounds interesting... but I feel that it needs a media card reader!
    I like my SD memory...

Justin, get some sleep [ :D]

The thing that made me opt for the M6 instead of the M3 was the built in graphics... but now that I realize I have no time to play games, I probably should've bought the M3 [xx(]

The topic said z71v news, anything more specific on that? Can we expect the 6800 go or Ultra in any of these laptops?
