I've been using my nice new self built Z71V for about a week now, and must say I am quite happy with it.
However, there is something I've noticed that I can't quite figure out. I'm thinking it's a driver issue, but I would like to know if other owners have had similar issues.
Whenever I am playing any type of audio, whether it be a simple windows sound effect, music, or a DVD, everything works as it should if the Intel 2915 WLAN is enabled. However, if I disable the WLAN, the audio starts to skip a bit. It's actually quite noticeable. But the strange thing is that it only, and always happens with the WLAN is disabled.
My current driver versions are as follows:
WLAN - Intel PROSet/Wireless 9.0.2.0 (Intel PROSet 2915 card)
Audio - Realtek HD Audio 5.10.0.5034
I'm curious if any other Z71 owners with 2915 WLAN cards have noticed the same issue, and if anybody knows of a possible fix.
Thank you in advance.![]()

That is a bit wierd.
Try to update all of the drivers. There is a list of them @ z71forums.com in the driver section.
I haven't tried the 9.0.2.0 intel set yet, I am using the 9.0.1.4 which seems to be working fine. -
that is wierd! I have the 9.0.2.0 wireless drivers, but I've never had that issue.

I don't have that problem either. Very strange indeed.

Hm... What audio driver(s) are you guys using?
This is indeed strange. If I'm playing music (or any sounds, like I said), the second I disable the WLAN (from quick button), the sound starts to hiccup every few seconds. It does the same thing if I right click and disable WLAN from the taskbar icon. But as soon as it's re-enabled, everything sounds perfectly normal.
The biggest problem with this is that sometimes I like to disable the WLAN to reduce heat. But when I do that, I'd also like to have hiccup free music play.
Any ideas? -
I'm using the drivers from: http://z71forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=3
