I own a Z71V, and no matter how long I leave the machine plugged in, the battery does not recharge to full. I get maybe 60% max (at least this is what windows reports). I mean it could be that windows is misreporting the battery level. Or it could be that something is really wrong with the battery. Or I need to update a driver somewhere? Anyone have any ideas?
I've tried completely discharging the battery and then plugging it back in overnight to charge, but windows still reports a 60% full battery. I think I'll try the bios battery calibrator next.
In any case tho, I was wondering if any other asus owners have experienced this? for all I know it may not be laptop related but OS related but if anyone can throw me a tip, I'd appreciate it.
*edit* I probably should mention that I am using power4gear and it is properly installed. And everything was working as it should up until maybe a week ago.

I have this problem too!!! Just noticed it last week. When I the AC adapter pluged in, my Z71V's orange charging light is always on!!! My battery usually charges up to about 88% and stops right there. I find that if I take out the AC plug from the back of my laptop and then plug it back in, my battery will charge past 88%. Right now I it up to 94%, and it's been that way for the last 10 minutes...
