    Hi,
I have a problem with Z71V's keyboard. Around the top right corner of the keyboard, the keys feel loose and produce shaking when I press it. Keys around PrintScreen is most affected, it feels like the base of keyboard is not fixed or something.

    Anyone have any idea?

Yup, I have the same problem on my W2v. Its rather annoying and a little disappointing especially after hearing all the rave about Asus build quality.

Justin of ProPortable suggested to remove the keyboard and use thin double sided tape on mine since they are held in by fixed tabs rather than with screws. I would check how yours is secured before I go through with this though.

That is known as "keyboard flex"... common problem with many notebooks. Or, maybe your keyboard just needs to be re-seated.

Try reading the Z71v assembly guide (the thread is stickied at the top of this forum) and read the instructions about how to re-seat the keyboard. If that doesn't work, I'd try what Asudef/Justin recommend... and use double-sided tape if it really bothers you.

Well I just release the keyboard latch, and put a clean folded toilet paper under it, then the problem disappear. The keyboard is so much easier to type on now.

Just when you're putting stuff under, remember not to cover holes and opening like the ram compartment, but only on the clean metal surface.

I tried double-sided tape but it turns out to bump up the whole keyboard quite a bit and looks unnatural since other area is lower compared to the hightened one. And the flex problem isn't much better with double sided tape.

I find cleanly folded toilet paper (folded once) works the best when putting it under the area around middle and right latches. (Couldn't do it for the left since there's a opening there, but there's no flex on left side anyway.)

Hope this helps. i know how annoying a flex-ing keyboard is.
