    Hi,
    I have a problem with Z71V's LCD.

I have in windows power management set to turn off monitor after 10 minutes, and also set closing notebook lid to do nothing (which turns off screen only when you close notebook).

The problem is, after I close the notebook, during which time screen is off, and wait for over 10 miuntes then open it up again, the screen does not turn on.

Anyone had this problem or similar issues? Thanks. :)

    Try pressing the ESC key.

    Disable Standby and Hibernation Mode

Press FN+F(something on the keyboard) to see if the LCD got switched in the process.

That would be FN+F7 (you could also try pressing FN+F6 a few times to crank the brightness up)

Thanks for the advice. But it still doesnt work, the screen won't turn back on after I close the lid for longer than monitor auto-turnoff time set in power management.

    Any ideas?

I had an IBM thinkpad do that to me. I reinstall Windows and it fixed the problem. No idea how to resolve it otherwise.

if it's a recent problem (it hasn't been in place for the duration of your ownership), you can use system restore to go back to when you didn't have the issue. you could also try reinstalling Power4Gear, which I heard at one point controls the hotkeys. (sorry if my memory is bad)
