I was just wondering if there were any..
my friend says that because the vents are on the bottom that the laptop will overheat and die.. is that true?
How easy does it overheat if say im playing a game like Guild Wars?

So far there hasn't been any reports here that I can remember about overheating issues with the z71v. Aslong as you don't use your notebook on a pillow ie cover the vents then there shouldnt be a problem with overheating. If your mega concerned then get a laptop cooling pad...can pick one up for US$20-30 and given that all the vents are on the bottom, the z71v will actuall benifit substantially more from a notebook cooling pad, as it will be able to remove more heat.
There is a good review of the z71v here http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2346
might be worth a read

Many many notebooks have their vents on the bottom... it's fine.
I think that the Z71v is one of ASUS's only new notebooks that DOESN'T have a heat problem
