You have to open command prompt from the directory of winflash and type winflash /force, then you can flash to the current/older bios. I think intel replaced my entire notebook, I dont have a core 2 duo sticker anymore :O
BTW, winflash comes on the driver disc.. wierd.

I was able to get this method to work.
Step1: downloaded image, and burned to cd using Nero
Step2: powered down laptop, pulled the hard drive and started up with the cd in the drive.
Step3: the BIOS was flashed and the keyboard now works perfectlyand remember to put the hard drive back in once you have powered down (duh).
Thanks again for your help -

To further explain why I ended up here:
The Z96J that I had bought was put together for me by CyberPower. Now, the laptop itself, I would rate at a C plus. Great features, but there was this keyboard issue (posted above), had battery problems that required a new battery to be sent, the cd drive was rattling like crazy at one point which required a new drive, and God help you if you want to find any drivers or support on CyberPower's Website. The CyberPower support would have to rate in at D minus, as in, they eventually get around to resolving most issues. As in, they eventually fixed the battery and cd drive issues, and they took 2 months to assemble and send me the laptop, with many mistakes being made on the custom cover that we ordered for the business that it was intended for. Every step requires multiple phone calls, and tons of my time; which is a major hassle in that IT is one of the 3 or 4 other jobs that I do alongside my regular duties, so I hate having to deal with any issues that come up with this laptop.
As far as the help I got from GenTechPC:
I noticed that the Z96J was being sold on their site as well, and since I was getting nowhere with CyberPower, I gave their tech support a call. Ken Lee was very nice, professional, and courteous enough to direct me to this forum (taking his time up to help me even though the laptop had never been through his business). I cannot quantify how critical it is that there are people like Ken out there that stand behind their word and are willing to help people in need like me. For any laptops in the realm that need upgraded graphics and capabilities, which my business uses for CAD/CAM dental product design and will see a rapid increase in need for computers capable of quality graphic display, I will not hesitate for one second to take my business to him and avoid the CyberPower headache in the future.
Thanks again for all your help Ken
