Are the S96J and Z96J BIOSes the same? The Asus website lists 601A as the latest Z96J BIOS but the FAQ thread says 1201 is the latest S96J/Z96J BIOS that fixes the graininess. Can I flash to 1201? Should I?

Sure, they are the same, as long as it is a S96J and Z96JS. Some of the Z96J and Z96F and other similar models don't quite match up. If the program lets you, you should be fine. The Z96JS and S96J are identical except the S96J has a lower res screen, no bluetooth, and is supported by Intel. No worries go for it :)

Mine just says Z96J on the bottom, so I assume it's not a Z96Js. I just got it from Gentech. Is the s revision not something they'd label obviously?

Nevermind, seems that I do have a Z96Js. This revision system is a bit confusing. Flashed to 1201 without incident, though.
