According to the Asus Website the Z96j comes with an e-Sata connector. I guess since my Z96j is a couple years old now, and it doesn't have the s after the j I missed out.

So I guess they keep building the Z96j, but keep improving it?

Anyways, how do they add the e-Sata connector? Is it something I can add to my system easily?

They are not still making the Z96, at least not to my knowledge. I don't know which models had eSATA and which not.

I would assume there exist PCMCIA or Express card adapters to eSata, if you really need it. Isn't a USB connection to your hard drive sufficient for your needs? Keep in mind the eSATA port is not powered so you would need an alternate power source for the HDD, which is a pain compared to USB connection.
