Hello everyone
I'm about to buy my G1S and having heard about its heating issues I'll probably get a cooling pad for it.
I've been reading a lot of good feedback from the Zalman NC1000 and I really like the looks of it, but the point is: does it work with the G1S? Any real benefits of using it? (I'm hoping it will reduce the temperature at least 5ยบ C)
If the zalman is no good for the G1S, can you give me a good alternative?
I heard that removing the tapes under de G1S helps a lot if you have a cooling pad, but temps actually get hotter if not using a cooler. Is this right?
I'd really like to see answers to these little questions![]()
PS - ... and sorry for my english![]()

Here's a previous thread that mentioned this topic before...

General consensus by us who have the G1S NC1000 combo was that the design of the laptop and the cooler was inefficient. It would be better to get a cooler that expels air from the top portion of the portion instead of the bottom like the NC1000 -
Ok, and what about this Thermaltake T1000?

Looks like it blows the air to the upper part of the laptop. -
I personally haven't tried it but you can give it a shot. It looks to be a better match for the G1S than the NC1000

I've found that the G1S- Zalman combo works well for certain areas of the G1s. It works great for cooling the RAM and HD if tapes are removed, however it doesn't do a great job with the GPU (Only 2 degree drop). If you move the cooler down a bit to where its over the GPU and remove the tape, you get a 5 degree drop however, so all in all, it works fairly well.
Your second option does seem better suited for the G1s however, so your best bet is to try and find a review for it and see what others say. If not, the zalman is a good, but not great solution.
