A question for you guys that surprisingly not a single soul apart from me seem to want to know the answer to: What are the differences between the UX501JW and the UX501VW, other than the latter being released later? I see different things everywhere, so can somebody try to simply inform me on the differences?

I will buy one of them, depending on which is better, as the prices seem to be very equal.

The latter is just the newer model. The main differences are the newer one have a 6700hq instead of a 4720hq and a thunderbolt 3 port.

Thank you, that was very simplified and what I needed. In other words, the VW is the better model.

Though it's quite strange that on some online stores, the JW is more expensive than the VW. Should be opposite given our conclusion. Oh well, probably something to do with even more specific model differences.

price doesn't matter. I often see older laptops more expensive than newer better laptops.

501VW has displayport too. It's called displayport over usb-c.
it's thunderbolt 3, usb-c, and displayport, all on a single port
    see that "D" logo?
There is no advantage to mini-displayport over usbc-displayport

Is it safe to assume that the UX501VW will be compatible with the XG 2 station since it apparently runs off of TB3 (according to the Transformer 3 Pro)?

Does anyone know something about the screen quality on the UX501 VW?
The description states 15.6' LED Back-lit Ultra Slim 300nits UHD 3840X2160 16:9 Anti-Glare. On some sites there it is marked as IPS, but not in most cases so I am trying to find out about the viewing angles and general quality for graphic and CAD applications
