ZenBook UX430 BackLight Issue

Hi.

Recently purchased a Asus UX430UA royal blue.

Everything is running fine aside from the functionality for the keyboard backlight. I contacted Asus and they advised going ahead with a factory reset. Aside from this and dozens of ATK driver installations, the keyboard backlight just seems to not want to turn on.

I've done the following so far;

• Two hard factory resets of the notebook.
• Multiple installs of ASUS' ATKPackage drivers (https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ASUS-ZenBook-UX430UA/HelpDesk_Download/)
• Full driver update for the system (All other drivers)
• Updated BIOS to latest v.304.

Does anyone with this laptop have the same issue? It is advertised as "Illuminating keyboard backlight" but there is definitely no light coming from the keys. FN + A / FN + F3/F4 do not work at all despite there being icons depicting keyboard brightness.

Should I return the notebook under warranty?

Correct. I've never seen it turn on.

 

Sounds like something is not right with that. yeah, I would suggest a repair or return.
