I'm thinking about getting the Zenbook and upgrading the HD to an SSD. I think I read that the Zenbook does not come with recovery CDs or a version of windows seperately.

What is the best method for getting the paid-for version of windows from the old HD to the new SSD?

    Thanks

You could clone the drive, but otherwise, the only way to reinstall Windows is to have the media (either an disc or on a USB flash drive, or via a network install).

Cloning is not generally recommended - especially when migrating from a HDD to a SSD - but if you're up to it, it will save you from needing to find a legitimate copy of Windows 8 for download.

Cloning requires aligning the drive though; here is a guide on how to do that.
