Does anybody know when this will be available in north america?

I am thinking of buying a UX301UB but is the 310UX right around the corner? I can't seem to find any information about it anywhere.

You could always buy one on ebay with international shipping. Would cost more though.

From South Korea it's actually about the same as the UX303UB on amazon to Canada (where I am). But eBay of course means long delivery usually, risks of bad seller, costs for potential return.

But if I did, what to do about the different power plug?

Yup that will work. One thing to point out that I didn't notice before, the keyboard is dual language, so it'll have English and Korean characters on each key.

No idea on the duty, I'm in the US

Ok a few difference I notice between this item and the global site ad here:
    https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/ASUS-Zenbook-UX310UQ/

One is the DDR4 RAM is 8GB vs 16GB (interestingly it says 16GB on the asus korea site), and storage is 256GB SSD vs 512 SSD + 1TB HDD. Also ebay ad mentions the geforce 940MX AND intel graphics, global site mentions only 940MX.

I don't think the graphics are any different (just described differently), but for the hard drives, are these components potentially upgradable at a later date?

Do you think the units will be functionally different in any other significant way? I'm not familiar with laptop rollouts and how they differ between regions.

While not in a language I can understand, it appears extremely simple to take apart in this video

I do not think functionally it will act any different
