    Hello everyone

I have a problem with my Zenbook UX31E. A while ago, I forgot my password and never got round to sorting out as I was so busy at work, I simply switched to a back up laptop. Now, a year or so later I have powered it up to crack the password on the account. It starts but I cannot login as previously mentioned.

I want to run a password recovery utility from a usb/SD card but when I try pressing escape or F2 on startup just get a black screen (power is on), however F8 and F9 work.

So I can't get in to my BIOS, change boot options and recover my wonderful Zenbook, which even now - 5 years on is still the best I have used.

I would very much appreciate it if anyone could assist me with this.

My plan at the moment is to wait for my Torx to arrive, strip it down and try a CMOS reset if there is such a thing on it, and give it a general check over while I'm in there but beyong that I'm not sure.

    Thanks, AJ
