I have a Zenbook UX31E with the Sentelic touchpad.

I am unable to install the ASUS Smart Gesture (Touchpad Driver) (Version V1.0.32 ) for Windows 8 64-Bit. I get an error saying my touch pad is not compatible.

I have tried a complete re-install of the OS from scratch.

I installed the ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities (Version V1.0.0023 ) first, then tried the ASUS Smart Gesture (Touchpad Driver) (Version V1.0.32 ) install next, it fails at the end saying the touch pad is not compatible with this software.

This makes the laptop touch pad not usable with Windows 8.

    Anyone have any advise?

There have been quite a few issues with this particular driver/software on Asus Ultrabooks. http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/635461-ux31-ultrabook-touchpad-tips-tread.html

I think some users were able to find that using particular ElanTech drivers helped certain issues. I'm sure if you scour the Asus forums, you'll find similar driver-related issues with the touchpad, and perhaps the ElanTech workaround.
