    Hi Everyone,

First and foremost, I would like to point out that posting here is my last resort. I never come to a forum to start a new post until I have thoroughly exhausted my ability to search previous posts by other people who are experiencing similar issues. With that being said, I have yet to find a workable solution to my Zenbook UX32A's touchpad / trackpad woes.

Here is the problem: occasionally from boot-up, or even from sleep, the trackpad will simply not respond. It has no movement, no clicking capability, no anything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several different versions of the Asus SmartGesture driver software, but to no avail. I have even tried installing ElanTech drivers as an alternative, but eventually at some point, the issue occurs. Further, I notice a pattern whereby the trackpad's lack of function seems to coincide with the driver software not having fully loaded. Using an external mouse, I tried stopping the services and processes for the software, then restarting it. This had no luck either. Has anyone else experienced this incredibly annoying issue with their Zenbook? I've had this laptop for nearly two years, but this is one of those annoying issues that makes me want to throw it onto a rail-line and watch as it gets pummeled by a freight train.

I know some of you will suggest to just use an external mouse, but that defeats the purpose of having this slick and slender ultrabook in those tightly cramped classrooms that I have to sit in at university. The only thing I have yet to do is a complete reformat of my laptop.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.
