I love the aesthetics, but is there any real benefit to my UX-21 being very thin on one side? I mean, you pretty much can only put it places that will accommodate the thickest side. Weight is most important to me, but if they'd made the Zenbook boxy, the extra space wouldn't take up any weight if left empty. And the extra interior space might help with cooling, and would definitely make it easier to open the lid. So I'm wondering: is it strictly for aesthetics, or does the thinness on one side benefit the user in some more substantial way?

It puts the keyboard at an angle so you can type more comfortably
The extra space would not help cooling, since there is no vents for air to be drawn in. -
the zenbooks look really nice, but i noticed that all the ultrabooks keyboads are way too shallow. The keys do not travel enough when pressing them. I find that my u36sd keyboard is perfect.

I actually really dig the Zenbooks and think the comfort is really smooth. They are sleek, light and totally fit my comfort typing level. The ramp up from front of computer to back is definitely fitting for type comfort.
Zenbook's one-sided thinness: any functional benefit?
