Alright, I recently bought an Asus F3SA-A2 from NewEgg. (Love it, by the way)

Anyway, I'll be taking it to college in the fall, and I was curious about note taking. This really isn't Asus specific, but I was wondering what you all use?

Would it be worth it to just go with OpenOffice and get a copy of OneNote 2003 for like $15, or just balls to the wall and drop $110 on Office 2007?

Also, are there any free alternatives to OneNote?

And how effective really is notetaking on a laptop?

Thanks for the help I'm sure you'll all provide.

An alternative to OneNote is EverNote, although I think onenote is well worth its cheap price.
