What is happening is it just saying shutting down and it's just stuck on that screen for a long time. What you can do is try going through and updating your windows updates and check to see if your laptop may have spyware and other things that infect computers.

Could be that you may have a process still trying to shutdown. What you can do is go to the start menu and where the cursor is blinking type msconfig startup and just uncheck processes you don't use.

When did this start happening. Do you remember if you open any applications or downloaded software on the internet.
