    Yes, the specs on the A6Ja and the S96J are almost identical. The big difference is that the A6J is an Ensemble model, while the S96J is a Built on Asus model. Please read the Asus FAQ for more information.

    and what about the options ? Is the difference of a T2400 to a T2500 or T2600 worth it for the price ?

    what speed will i gain with a 7200 rpm drive instead of 5400? and lose of battery life?

    S96J doesn't have built-in bluetooth

    if bluetooth is not a concern, get the S96J because you can get a 7200rpm harddisk..

    the A6JA or S96J can last between 2hrs to 3hrs even on 7200rpm harddisk..

    I'm running Vista Beta 2 with no problems. It runs great. Initially there was problems with sound but this has been sorted out by new realtek drivers.

    To answer the posters question;
    The s96j isnt a built on Asus model, its a VBI(verified by intel) notebook. Basically the s96 can have components removed and changed such as the screen, processor, keyboard and ect. I myself would go with the T2400 as many people have been saying the performance difference between 2.0 and 1.83 isnt that much.

    @ FlipTwisteR: do you have any chances is speed ,with the fact that vista fully supports the dual core?

    @ Bhatman : how is the build quality ?
    those it say asus on the notebook itself ??
    is the shell of the notebook made by asus ?
    how do the regular and VBI notebooks compare
