    Hi guys,

i´m considering buying asus A6T. I came across good offer, ASUS A6TC-AP017H, which has nice specs (turion x2 tl52, 1gb ram, 120gb hdd) and is supposed to have "nVidia Go 7600 256MB/TC" on board. Is it possible? I thought, that A6 TC, is only shipped with geforce 7300/tc and that there is no such thing as 7600 with turbocache.

I wouldn´t like to end up buying notebook with geforce7300, because im an occasional player (WW2 games like Call of Duty, etc.).

    Any help will be aprecciated.

    Thanx

Im sure its a go7600 with 256MB dedicated. You are right when you say the go7600 doesnt support turbocache which means it has to dedicated. The Turbocache thing is probably a typo on their website.

But accorind to Asus the A6TC has a go 7300:
    http://uk.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1186&l1=5&l2=24&l3=134

and according to mesh computers selling the A6T its a go 7600:
    http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=91970

that is a bit confusing...

    Thanx for your replies

but im still kinda confused, it seems to me, that it´s either an ASUS A6T (and it has a geforce7600), or it is ASUS A6TC, and it has geforce7300......

here is the link where i found the notebook, unfortunately it is in Slovak language (I live in SLOVAKIA - CENTRAL EUROPE), but you might be able to read the specs anyway.....

    http://www.agem.sk/?cmd=tovar_detail&product=8140839

The model number is ASUS A6TC-AP017H, the price for this specific model is around 1200EURO.

    here is another link:
    http://www.galileu.com/store/nav.asp?f=18&s=64&p=5427

Is there anyone who can post exact spec of this A6TC-AP017H model?

    Thanx

The one Im gonna buy has the modelnumber: ASUS AP019H
    Spec:
    AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-52 (1.66ghz) (TL-60 is 2ghz)
    100 GB - 5400 rpm
    2 x 512 MB
    DVD±RW (+R DL) / DVD-RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600

    In your spec it says:
    Grafika nVidia Go 7600 256MB /TC

    Thanx Omega for your info,

it seems that the model you ordered ( ASUS AP019H) is from the same line as the one i´m looking for ( ASUS AP017H). That is a good news.
I only wonder why would AP017H have better specs (120GB hdd) than AP019H (100GB hdd). I guess, AP017H (the number indicates lower model) will come with bigger HDD and maybe a weaker gfx-card (7300-tc).
The problem is, i called the shop and i was told that the notebook isn´t on stock yet, they are expecting it next week. So they couldn´t tell me what are the real specs.
I was just wondering, because ACER (i considered buying ACER 8202, but then decided to wait for turion x2) has a downloadable .pdf file for each notebook line, where you can read the exact model number and its exact specification, so you can compare (for example 8202 vs. 8204, or ferrari 4006 vs. 4005) different models and pick up the one that fits your needs.

Perhaps I wait a week or two, A6t is a new model, so there is not that much information on the internet.

Thanx and good luck with AP019H.
I hope you will be satisfied, perhaps you will write a short review.

One more question. From what i understood, all ASUS A6 lines are the same build quality, the same chassis, only with different specifications? Or am I mistaken?

    Is it on-line?

    thanks

If I get round to it I'll probably get a review done for the A6t by the weekend, as i've been working with it for about 2 weeks now, bought it from Mesh Computers if thats any help to anyone! Also i've had no problems yet either!

A review would be awsome. I'd like to see what you think of the X2 and how it performs in benchmarks - superpi and 3Dmark05. Also, in your review can you tell us what you think about the heat coming from the laptop? Turions laptops tend to run hot.

few questions 4 the review then:
    1. How many digits to i set Super Pi to calculate?
    2. Is there a general template for the reviews on this site?
    3. Should I show the images in my review by using http://imageshack.us/
    4. this isn't really a question but I can only take pictures with my K750i (2mp)

I've run 3d mark 06 and got around 2200 points and yes it does run hot! Especially when trying the fear demo out with the GPU overclocked and its 26 celcius, started to burn up a sweat after an hours play!

    thanks burnzy

    hai
this may be a really stupid question, but I just want to know, is the turion x2 also like a core duo. As in it also has 2 processors? But it is 64-bit which the core duo is not. Is that correct?

I tried reading about the turion x2, but as I am not a very technical person, I still did not quite get it.

    thanks

You're right there, it does have 2 cores and is 64 bit which the core duo isn't, although the core 2 duo coming out this month or next??? will also be 64 bit and have higher clock speeds if my memory serves me right!

    1. How many digits to i set Super Pi to calculate?
    the standard test is 2M
    2. Is there a general template for the reviews on this site?
the reviews on this site follow a general template, see the reviews here
    3. Should I show the images in my review by using http://imageshack.us/
You can if you want to, or attach them with the review
    4. this isn't really a question but I can only take pictures with my K750i (2mp)
That should be fine, just as long as they are clear

There are 2 types of review btw, the more formal reviews on the site ive given a link to. These reviews are made in Word and sent to admin who then insert the pics and upload the review. The other type of review is informal and is posted up by anyone, e.g like this.
