great pics. This is the model with the Go 7300 yes? if so, Im wondering what the battery life is to see how much more battery the 7300 "saves" compared to the jM with the 7600

it has both standard right and left click, just designed integrated.

and also, the vertical line you see on the right side of the touchpad is the scrolling function, pretty nice.. and useful imo.

Looks nice. The bag is the same bag they bundle with the W3 series... a lovely tweed bag.

I really love the new touchpad look...

hmm, i guess do it like how CanadaSys did their test on the A8jm?

"I am typing on A8Jm now, I set LCD brightness in the middle, using wireless, and a optical external mouse(I believe the optical mouse will afftect the lasting time, but not sure by how much), I started with a full batery from 8:30pm, I will let you know the result. By now, it's has passed 25 minutes, it says 2 hours 45 minutes (85%) left."

So does the A8Jm available in Canada include the mouse and bag?

I am guessing your A8Jc have BT? I see the BT button in your pictures.

Very nice! I just went to the computer store the other day in Taiwan. I checked out tons of Asus notebooks. I really like the a8j, but the 7300 Go just won't cut it for me. If only the W3j had a camera… well… I guess it would be too perfect. But for the x1600… W3j here I come! :)

A8Jm doesn't come with mouse and bag!! Although this model have a BT button, the BT module is not built in. It requries to install manually.

It still has the button? Oh that sucks. How hard is it to install the BT manually?

I spoke to Danny, and he can't find the BT space for the module, and the laptop has to be entirely taken apart to find out where it is.

battery: sorry havent had time yet (long weekend here in canada) will test next week

bluetooth: a8jc has bluetooth built-in. it's strange that asus would take it out for a8jm... while still keeping the button there. may be asus has good reasons but personally as a consumer i think that is lame.

    hd: it's hts541080g9at00 5400 rpm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822146043
i wouldnt count on that though if netherlands sites say otherwise. seems asus likes to customize according to market.

benchmarks: excuse my ignorance, how do i run 3dMark05 test? if someone explains how i'll test it next week too

a8ja: not available in taiwan when i looked a week ago, may be in the near future?

    You go here:
    http://futuremark.com/download/3dmark05/
    Select a mirror.

Download it, then install the program. Open the program and you click "run". That's it. After 15 minutes of it doing it's thing, you'll see a nice pretty message. You have scored "xyzv" points in 3dmark05"

doodling, I have a favour to ask you.

If you can spare the time, could you install the Vista Upgrade Advisor and post what is says about the go7300?

Its a little utility from microsoft that scans your system and tells you how suitable it is for vista. I really would like to know what it says about the go7300 and would appreciate it if you could back to me on that.

If you cant then thats ok, ill just post this in the "graphics" forum and hope someone will help.

    The utility is here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/upgradeadvisor/default.mspx

    Thanks.

Anyone know whether the a8jc is/will be available in canada/us vendors? I love the specs for the a8jm but its slightly out of my price range & I think I can manage with 256mb graphics.

It's pretty quiet, this machine doesn't make very much noise at all. The only exception is the optical drive when reading.

Can you compare a8j screen to fujitsu notebooks? Most of all I really care viewing angle . I saw some pics of 14,1 asus screens and they seem to be much better than a6j (in the terms of viewing angle) - but can you confirm my observations?

if you don't mind me asking another question:

Does the A8jm suffer from the DVD drive problems noted on this forum? Have you tried burning some DVDs?
