    http://mrach.com.pl/?xT=ASUS,A8JR,,,Notebook

Hey theres a new a8j in asia called the a8jr with the x2300

This gpu doesnt have a desktop version. It seems to be the first dx 10 gpu notebook for sale in the world

If there is a asian language review of it could somewhere on the net that someone finds link it here.

I think a lot of consumers are going to be interested in this one.

The actual graphics card probably isn't going to all that much faster in the first place, so it being DX10 won't help it so much. I am sure ATI will do some tweaks here and there, but for some proper graphics power, we will have to wait until the X2600 comes out. Good to see ATI making a slight blip of a comback though :p.

Errr, unless I am mistaken, .pl is the top level domain suffix for Poland. And as far as I know, Poland is somewhere in Europe. So, that's ASUS' release in Europe and not Asia.

Plus, that page is in Polish.

Even the price of the system is in PLN (Poland Zlotych). It's listed at PLN 4200, which roughly converts to US$ 1420 or so.

Still, interesting release, although I doubt the R600 based X2300 is going to be as powerful as the current DX9c mid-level mainstream card. Probabally will sit in between the GF Go 7700/MR X1700 and the GF Go 7400/MR1450.

Its probably in Asia as well, so I guess its a moot point.
DX10 graphics is pretty interesting, the fact that this is probably the bottom of the line ATI X2x00 line isnt.

I wonder when nVidia will put the 8 series cards into mobile. I sorta regret getting a G1 right before DX10 cards come out. Really hope there's a way to play dx10 games on a dx9 card...

I bet they are having trouble with the thermal envelope on the DX10 parts, hence the low end GPUs being released first. I would sit pretty with my X1700 or Go 7700 right now, to be honest.

If it's based on R600 then it will be a new core design so performance should increase substantially. I'm guessing it will fall between the X1400 and X1600 in terms of performance.

Asus has sort of a built in pre release ticker.

But other machines just like this are going to be released feb 1st with vista.

Whether they are readily available I doubt. There is a roadmap on the Dell forum of the e1706 and it has the 8400 go as well as a card called 7950 gx, which is supposedly also dx 10

Then the e1505 has this same card I 'THINK' ati x2300

I also suspect this is the case, with ATI at least. The majority of their range is focused to the low end and mid range. So, they have no real need to release some high end card, which will be hot and quite expensive. So, that may be a reason they are releasing the X2300. nVidia on the other hand, have many high end cards. I imagine that the first card they release will be something to replace the existing 7900/7950 GTX. It will be DX10, and it should be based on G80, however, they may just do something with the current G71M core, making it DX10. They only want to do this, so theyt can have a bit more time until they can get the proper G80 DX10 card onto the market. So, nVidia should release some fast G80 core first, rather than after the slower models have been released.

    Well,

while you are waiting try to find a dx 10 benchmark program.

    I couldnt find any.

Someone told me the shareware type game called robo blitz is the first dx 10 enabled program.

Ok I tried the game on my dx 9.0 system and it looks pretty old school lol I think theres some bad information on that.
