    has anyone tried an aftermarket gloss film on their notebooks?

    There were decades of the "Anti-Glare Filters", now why would you want to put the glares back on?

    Mike i know you are against the glare type screens. but they do look better i have no glare probs on my compaq and i have never seen a matte screen with the same vivid colors it makes the laptop look like a high end tv. better like a good sony crt. i definatly prefer it and have never had glare as an issue u can even bring this compaq out in the bright sun in the summer and see everything on the screen never seen a matte screen that can do that.

    There is a fine line. Glare is good for watching movies/ playing games but you have to watch out what's behind you or you be "looking over your shoulder" and playing HL2 at the same time. When that happends it does get awfully frustrating.
