Alrite, yes, i know, that this has been posted. but my problem is a little less or more than the one i found on google leading here.

Alrite, i was playing Combat Arms when the computer shut off (dont know why yet, looking for that log) and when i booted it up, none of the special functions worked accept the one to turn off the screen, so flipping the switch on the front to connect to the internet doesnt work, i cant turn up my volume without doing it manualy through the volume panel, etc.

I've seen some people answer these with "Re-Install the ATK Drivers" but, hehe, i dont know what those are. Also, i have restored to the day before the problem started with no error in system restore and this is still happening.

    Any help appreciated!

(the reason why this is my first post is because i had to register to post it :D )

The ATK Package is the driver and special function key utility for the keyboard.

I don't know if this will help, heck, you didn't even mention which laptop you are talking about. So be it.

Do you have your Driver & Utility disc? If you do, I suppose the easiest way would be to uninstall the ATK Package and re-install it from the Driver & Utility disc.

    1. Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features.
    2. Single-click the ATK Package and click Uninstall.
    3. Place the Driver & Utility disc in the disc drive.
Windows AutoPlay will display a dialog box. Single-click on "Run InstAll.exe" at the top. The "User Account Control" will bark, simply click the "Yes" button.

You should now see the "ASUS Notebook PC Driver CD" application on the desktop. Click the "Advance" button and then remove the check mark from the "Select All" column header. Look for the ATK Package in the list and single-click the box to place a check mark inside.

With only the ATK Package check marked in the "ASUS Notebook PC Driver CD" application, click it's "Start" button. You will receive a warning from "InstAll", and if you are ready, click the "Yes" button to continue.

    When finished reinstalling, reboot.

Alternatively; download the ATK Package from Asus Support. Like I mentioned above, uninstall the ATK Package from Programs and Features. Then extract the ATK Package Zip file and double-click the Setup.exe file.

    When finished reinstalling, reboot.
