    i have orderd my very first laptop
    asus S96J
    1.86ghz duo
    1gig ram
    100 gig 5400rpm sata
    x1600

    almost cant wayt they sayd it would be in on friday .

    iam eager to start gaming .this wil be mij first gaming computer .

    Hey congrats on the purchase! Looks like a nice notebook you have there! :) Just a slight correction... It's a 1.83 core duo, not 1.86. ;)

    yes your right just wanted to test you guys . :)
    are there any things i should look out for with instaling drivers and stuff .
    is it best to install drivers from the website or the driver cd .
    and graphic card ?omega or original drivers

    Alright another S96 owner! If you want to be daring, go with Omega drivers(though its not recommended). The Intel VBI website; http://downloadfinder.intel.com/ will allow you to update the latest stuff. The ATi Catalyst drivers on the website are good, but just be careful with them.
    Also the webcam drivers get off the CD and you go to the setup.bat file and not the setup.exe.
    And above all else, have fun with your notebook!

    why is it not recommended. i just want the best performance .or ist there any change in performance between the original / omega and catalyst drivers ?
    what do you mean with be carefull?

    Well its up to you or not if you want the drivers(Omegas are hard to uninstall if problems occur) and the latest Catalyst drivers are good, but there is an issue of standby(but its fixed somehow...). The performance increase to these drivers is a 200 mark increase on 3DMarks but its not that significant when gaming.
