    ASUS K52JR-A1 <--- being offered on ebay for $899. For 15.6" Core i5-430M/4GB DDR3/500GB, it seems like a great deal.
    I tried looking up more info on this laptop online but couldn't find anything. Anybody know anything about this laptop?

    yea, that is probably the same retailer, just under a different name.
    its not cheaper if you factor in the 8% bing cashback on ebay. i was just concerned that this laptop was not mentioned on any web site, especially asus's web site. the only sites it is on are these web stores that all seem like the same company.

    Any more info about the color yet? Some people say its brown, other say its black, and some say even Asus doesn't know what color it will be...

    Are there any home made pics yet?

    Edit: Saw it in the shops yesterday, the K52 was a bit disappointing. How could you Asus, how could you put the brown color over it...Yeah, everybody likes something else but just silver/black/grey would be a more regular color for most people. Chicklet keyboard is a nice future on a budget laptop, really! But it wasn't as nice as the chicklet keyboards I saw before.

    I just got mine a couple of days ago... it's a very dark brown that is almost hard to tell from black. The "sunken hinge" design that gives a separation between the screen and base is very, very, very nice.

    there's an A52jr, exact same specs witht he k52jr, the only difference is the harddrive, the k52jr jas 72000 rpm while the A52jr has 5400, the A52jr is $749.

    Hey Guys!

    Don't even think about to buy this notebook!
    It's a piece of *hit!
    I have one, but asus can't repair it, they says it is normal...
    HAHAHA :mad:

    But i have head-ache because of this "high pitch noise"

    well i have one but its with i3-350m but other specs are the same and its AWESOME. its queit and worth the money . you can do decent gaming on it .keyboard is nice to type too.
