    best thing to do is find out what kind of drive you have and see what interface it has (ide or sata). You might want to research what drive was in the n61 that has a bluray. I bought the bluray for my g50 by researching what drive fits in it. The one I got was from a sony vaio but swapping the bracket around it worked great.

    it's HL-DT-STDVDRAM GT30N. for this usb3.0 model laptop, it's impossible to have ide optical drive i think.

    got a deal for new GBW-B10N blue-ray writer @$135 plus shipping, anybody knows whether this is compatible with N61JQ-A1?
